OVERVIEW
These features were originally published by Diablo Valley College’s student-run newspaper, The Inquirer, with part one released in fall 2018 and part two in early 2019.
For my portfolio, I rewrote both articles to strengthen the central narrative: a student engineering team racing to complete their ROV in time for the MATE Competition. I also redesigned the magazine layout in Figma and incorporated additional original photography.
This revision demonstrates my ability to uncover the human story within a technical STEM context while applying visual and editorial design principles to enhance narrative impact.
